Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Bharti Razdan, M.D.While the majority of newborn infants are born healthy, more intense monitoring and care are sometimes necessary. The hospital's 18-bed Level III+ NICU features highly sophisticated equipment specially designed to care for critically-ill newborns in an environment that fosters healthy development.

Most importantly, NICU patients benefit from the continuous care and observation of Johns Hopkins’ neonatologists and registered nurses who are experienced with the special needs of newborn premature babies.

The hospital is pleased to announce that the neonatologists who staff the NICU are now participating providers in all CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield plans.
