Survivors Offering Support Mentor/Breast Buddy Program
The SOS Mentor/Breast Buddy program is an all volunteer network of breast cancer survivors who are matched with newly diagnosed women to share insights, provide emotional and informational support and be there as a friend throughout a woman’s journey with breast cancer –a time when empathy and understanding are paramount.
This program is supported by a grant from the Susan G. Komen Maryland Affiliate.
For more information about our mentor program, call Denise O'Neill, SOS Program Coordinator at The Center for Breast Care at (410) 884-4574, e-mail doneill@hcgh.org, or submit a mentor request form online.
Survivors Offering Support (SOS) Partner Support Workshop
This workshop provides insight into care giving and support that patients and families will require during a highly emotional and difficult time. Presenters utilize support methods and ideas from The Breast Cancer Husband, a book by Marc Silver, as well as real-life survivor-family experiences. The workshop will be held periodically throughout the year.
