Support Our Mission

Howard Hospital Foundation
Founded in 1992, the Howard Hospital Foundation is a private, non-profit organization entrusted to provide philanthropic support of Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine. We are governed by a Board of Trustees, which guides our efforts to raise and manage funds for the hospital. Through the generosity of many caring and compassionate donors, we help Howard County General Hospital respond to the health care needs of our growing community, fostering world-class medical care and wellness services in a convenient, local setting. hcgh.org

Kicks Against Breast Cancer
KICKS Against Breast Cancer (KICKS) is a non-profit soccer organization, which promotes women's health and well being by emphasizing the importance of early identification of breast cancer and by providing essential resources to patients undergoing treatment.  All proceeds from KICKS benefits the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center, an ancillary service of Howard County General Hospital, Johns Hopkins Medicine.  KICKS was founded in 1998 by Louise Waxler in honor of her friend Claudia Mayer who lost her battle to breast cancer. Blossoms of Hope
Blossoms of Hope is a project to plant 1,000 cherry trees across Howard County that will bloom simultaneously every April and beckon visitors to our area. Its real goal, however, goes beyond an annual display of color. It signifies the hope of individuals and their families within the community who are coping with cancer.

Every Blossom of Hope cherry tree offers a $500 sponsorship opportunity for individuals who want to make a difference in their community – and half of each fee will be donated to the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center.

Visit the Blossoms of Hope website to learn how you can participate in this project.

Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults
This program offers cancer support, advocacy, and education specific to young adults dealing with cancer. Features of the website include a cancer support network, college scholarships, a patient advocate program plus a discussion forum. Additionally, UCF provides community grants to grassroots organizations that focus on bridging the gap in psychosocial services available for adolescents and young adults.
