ACS Road to Recovery
Road to Recovery is an American Cancer Society service program that provides transportation for cancer patients to and from their treatments. Transportation is provided according to the needs and available resources in the community.

Angel Flight
Partnering with American Cancer Society, Angel Flights transports patients and a family member or companion round trip from their home to hospitals, clinics and specialists less than 1,000 miles away. Passengers need to be ambulatory and show financial need. They may fly as often as needed for evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, surgery, transplants, follow-up appointments or other medical purposes. No insurance is accepted and no cost is charged.

Community Action Council of Howard County
Eligibility is based on family income for the prior 30 days. To apply, come to the Community Action Council and bring social security cards for all riders, picture ID of the head of the household, and proof of income.

Connect-a-Ride
This is a fixed public bus system serving four counties with routes that connect Laurel and Columbia.

Corporate Angel Network
Helps with transportation costs for cancer patients who are receiving special treatment in National Cancer Institute-approved treatment centers by arranging free transportation on corporate aircraft when seats are available. One person may accompany the patient. The service is free.

Howard County Office of Commuter Solutions
Provides information regarding public transportation, carpool and vanpool services in and beyond Howard County. Will provide bus schedules.

Provides information on the transit system and para-transit system that provides door-to-door service for qualifying adults.

URTA (Urban Rural Transportation Alliance)
Provides curb-to-curb service to ambulatory medical-assistance clients in Howard County. URTA also provides service to hospitals in Baltimore City and central Maryland upon request if there is no other provider available in Howard County. Reservations are taken by phone from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and three business days notice is required.
