The award, bestowed upon the top five percent of hospitals in the nation, recognizes superior clinical quality across a range of the most common conditions for hospitalized patients. HealthGrades, an independent healthcare ratings company, reviewed more than 41 million Medicare hospitalization records to determine mortality and complication rates at nearly 5,000 hospitals across the United States to identify award winners.
