Just What Your Doctor Ordered
Well established within Howard County and a vital part of our community’s health improvement services, we strive to work closely with your physician to design a diabetes management plan that fits the way you live.  Whether you’re looking for overall improvement in managing your diabetes or more general changes for a healthier lifestyle, we can help. With your doctor’s order, most insurance plans – including Medicare – cover our services.

Pre-Diabetes
If you haven’t been diagnosed with diabetes but are concerned about the possibility of getting it in the future, our Wellness Center offers a program on pre-diabetes. For class dates and times, search under the keyword "diabetes" HERE or call our Wellness Center at 410–740–7601.

Programs

Individual Diabetes Management
We understand that talking with someone who understands diabetes and can help you deal with your concerns and meet your personal goals can be invaluable – you are important to us. For your convenience, we have both day and evening hours.

Group Classes
“Living with Diabetes” is our highly-regarded group class held during the day. During these interactive sessions, you’ll learn everything you need to know about diabetes management from our team of knowledgeable health professionals, including an endocrinologist, diabetes nurse educator, dietitian, psychologist, podiatrist and exercise specialist. We actively encourage your questions and involvement.

“Living with Diabetes: Executive Summary” is an evening class designed for the working professional. This class provides all information necessary for good diabetes management in a concise format during two classes of three hours each.

Diabetes Support Group
Our diabetes support group is held on the first Tuesday of every month from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. We present knowledgeable local speakers and provide the opportunity for you to ask questions and meet others who are working to manage their diabetes.
